Oooh.. i'm just so happy today. i can finally set my mind at ease.. and continue concentrating on my studying. i needed the credit of the highest level of band (band30) and so i must take an instrument i am familiar with... i wanted to learn saxophone soooooo badly but i guess its just not up to me to chose. oh well, cello is good too.. just feel abit bad about betraying my 'hubby' (who is now in ijco room - sleeping)..and that i've got myself another companion in canada.. bish!! oh well, we shant tell him abt tis okay?.. btw, i'm not making the one here my hubby
i called every single music shops found in the 3 pages of the yellow-page-book, and only one shop provided rental services (long & mcquade music..sth) and i checked on the map how to get there (by bus) and only to find that this place is across a river (s.saskatchewan river).
it was so far away from where i lived but i decided to go the next day (today) on my own. i told joy in the morning about my plan and it freaked her out somehow. she insisted she go along with me for it was reeeeeeeeeally far away and the temperature dropped from a -12deg to a frightening -33deg this morning. we took a cab there in the end - it cost me 30bucks in total..
we reached in about 25 minutes? or more? and i was in luck today. the man came out with a 3/4 sized cello..i mean, do i really look that small?!!... felt like kicking him.. then he went in and came out with this posh-looking-black-thingy.. 'you are lucky, tis is a brand new cello for sale but i couldnt find an old one thats used for renting...so..' OMG!! its so shiny and waxy and smooth and glossy and..and.. wala!!! take a look at tis beauty.. note the white reflection of me on the bottom right of e pict.. also, note the price tag..it was for sale for $1367... 
i know you'd say - its just a normal cello..yea, i agree but considering its for rent and for only $29/- per month... thats like way cheap... but sad to say, it looks good but the quality is !#$%@ all the four strings sound like my hubby's a-string.. soooooooooo squeaky.. yes, HONGJIN, azelia & cheehoe, stop laughing... another thing is that, the person gave me violin-rosin.. mr lee did say cello rosin cannot be substituted with violin rosin -- maybe tt explains the squeakiness..
the strings are not as easy to press as my hubby's.. so yup.. tis beauty is not at all perfect.. no, not nice at all.. but still, i'm happy i've gotten a cello for band lessons which start next week.. i shall be going back to serious mugging from after-blogging onwards...
